The Trump administration is extorting Ukraine. Reports confirm that U.S. officials have threatened to cut off Ukraine’s access to SpaceX’s Starlink unless Kyiv agrees to hand over significant stakes in its critical mineral resources. This is not diplomacy—it’s blackmail.
Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent demanded that Ukraine give up 50% of its natural resources, including oil, gas, and critical minerals, without any clear security guarantees. President Zelensky rejected the deal, and in response, the U.S. threatened to shut down Starlink—an essential tool for Ukraine’s military and civilian infrastructure.
This is mafia-style imperialism, not American leadership. Ukraine is fighting for its survival against a brutal Russian invasion, and instead of standing firmly by our ally, Trump is using Ukraine’s dependence on Starlink as leverage to extract wealth from a war-torn country.
The implications are disgraceful. America is supposed to be the leader of the free world, but Trump is treating Ukraine the way Putin does—demanding concessions in exchange for basic survival. If we allow this, no ally will ever trust the United States again.
European leaders are outraged. They have backed Ukraine without resorting to threats and exploitation. Meanwhile, Trump and his administration are turning America into a global extortionist, destroying decades of diplomatic credibility in the process.
Elon Musk’s involvement makes this even worse. Starlink was provided as a crucial wartime service, not a bargaining chip for corporate and political interests. Allowing a billionaire with personal ties to Russia to control vital military infrastructure is a national security risk.
Trump has already disrespected Ukraine, attacking Zelensky and making it clear he doesn’t care if Russia wins. Now, he’s using Ukraine’s desperate position to steal its resources. This is treasonous, un-American, and morally bankrupt.
If we let this stand, what’s next? Will Trump start cutting off aid unless Ukraine signs over its farmland? Will he demand control over its industries? This is the behavior of an authoritarian regime, not a democratic government.
Congress must act immediately. This is extortion, plain and simple. It violates American principles, undermines our national security, and strengthens Russia. If Trump is willing to sell out an ally in wartime, he will sell out anyone.
Congress must impeach and remove Donald Trump now. America cannot afford to be led by a traitor.
