Federal employees – you may be eligible for unemployment insurance from the State of Washington through the Unemployment Compensation for Federal Employees (EFCE) program. It is administered by the states; the Federal program follows each state’s policies and systems to process claims from Federal workers in that state. The Federal government reimburses each state for these payments. If you worked in Washington state and were terminated here, try applying to Washington’s Employment Security Department 800-318-6022or visit esd.wa.gov/unemployment. Fingers crossed that the US Dept. of Labor will continue to pay their share of these unemployment benefits.
