The actions taken during the Trump administration have had real consequences here in our district—damaging policies that have cost jobs and hurt our local economy. Many farmers are now facing the harsh reality that they may not be able to pay their bills, and families are feeling the financial strain. All of this stems from unconstitutional overreach by the executive branch, and Michael Baumgartner, our representative, has failed to take meaningful action.
As we all know, only Congress has the power to control spending and appropriations. But instead of standing up to protect our district and defend the Constitution, Baumgartner has allowed the executive branch to bypass that authority, leaving us vulnerable to misguided policies. Baumgartner was elected to protect us—to ensure our rights, our economy, and our future are safeguarded. By failing to challenge the overreach that’s hurting our communities, he has broken his promise to us.
If Baumgartner refuses to reclaim his constitutional authority and fight for the well-being of Washington’s 5th District, then he should resign. We need a representative who will put the people first and stand firm against unconstitutional power grabs that harm our communities.
