Nine Days Until the Legislature Convenes, Dozier Doing Nothing
Senator Perry Dozier – Just nine days until the opening of the Washington State legislative session, Perry Dozier has not filed any legislation to support the priorities he identified in the campaign. To be clear, he hasn’t filed any legislation at all.
The Senator has signed on as a secondary sponsor of legislation to amend existing battery recycling programs to address electric vehicle battery recycling. However, the proposed legislation appears to specifically exclude EV batteries.
Bravely, Perry has signed on to proposed legislation to move your party declaration to the inside of the ballot envelope. Trust me, your letter carrier knows you’re an asshole, hiding your party declaration isn’t going to change that. The Senator has prioritized the protection of snowflakes by proposing to ban mocking them within 25 feet of their petition signature gathering.
The movement to recognize November 22nd as Washington State Kimchi Day receives Senator Dozier’s hearty second.
Perry has signed on in support of legislation to give tax credits to railroads who maintain their infrastructure. What happens if they don’t maintain their infrastructure? Seems difficult for a railroad to operate without rails. Why would taxpayer funds be used to alleviate the cost of doing business for any private industry?
The Senator has also agreed to back legislation to excuse Title and Escrow Companies for taxes they failed to collect and remit. Another piece of legislation clarifies language around service contracts such as home maintenance warranties.
When Perry attempts to claim credit for requiring the Secretary of State to print and mail voter guides, just remember, the legislation originated with the Secretary of State’s office seeking to clarify the law. Perry had no part in this other than signing on as a secondary sponsor.
Despite having discussed climate change and global warming as a real threat during the campaign season, Perry Dozier is a secondary sponsor of proposed legislation that would prohibit Washington State from adopting California emission rules and laws. This is a direct contradiction to the things the Senator said on the campaign trail.
